My passion to sumi ink and brush....


            Shana Han, aka Hyehyeun Han in Korean, was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1981. Her family moved to the country side where they had their cow milk business and she enjoyed taking photos and painting the nature, animals and insects. She always dreamed to become a painter.

She was sent back to Seoul city (the capital of Korea) for education since the middle school and she graduated from Konkuk University with two bachelors’ degrees in microbial engineering and business. And then, she worked at a pharmaceutical company as an international business and marketing manager. After resigning from her position, she moved to the United States for continuing education, completed contract management and international business operations and management at UC Irvine extension and established a business, Hansderma, Inc. She is specialized in international business development and trading in the field of cosmetics, medical device and medical esthetic field.
She regularly takes art classes at community colleges and practice figure drawings at deb3321 studio. Her works are influenced by her Korean heritage and are mostly done in ink wash style with sumi ink. She currently spends most of her free time studying art and painting, practicing Chan meditation and salsa dancing.
